Work On Clemson Plaza Gets Underway

The city of Brevard provided the above graphic of what the park will look like when complete.

Last Thursday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the proposed Clemson Plaza, a longstanding initiative of Brevard City Council for improving the small open space at the corner of Main and Caldwell streets adjacent to the Co-Ed Movie Theater.

The plan is to transform it into an interactive sidewalk, according to City Planning Director Paul Ray.

The plaza is named after the Clemson Movie Theater that used to sit on the site.

In 2016, City Council approved allocating $337,018 for the design and construction of Clemson Plaza, but the project was delayed by the N.C. Department of Trans...
