Monday, June 14, is Flag Day across America.

Commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, Americans are asked to fly the American flag with pride and reverence on this day, as well as others.

The resolution passed by the Second Continental Congress stated, "Re-solved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation."
