Library's Second Story Book Store Reopens

Susan Goldsworthy, volunteer chair for the Friends of the Library, unpacks donated books for the shelves of the Second Story Book Store as the shop reopened on Monday, June 7. Located inside the Transylvania County Library, the store is open from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

With nearly two years' worth of books ready to go on the shelves, the Second Story Book Store at the Transylvania County Library is open again, and the Friends of the Library are making preparations for their 2021 book sale Oct. 9-15.

Both fundraising efforts have been on hold since the coronavirus outbreak in early 2020. But donations of gently used books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles have continued to flow in, so shoppers will find a lot to choose from, according to Gerri Jergensen, the volunteer who manages book sales for the Friends of the Library.
