The latest figures from the state government indicate North Carolina is going to have a much larger surplus than expected. The state is projected to collect $29.5 billion in revenue for the current fiscal year, about $1.9 billion more than projected in February. The state, however, is expected to spend just under $25 billion this year, leaving the state with a $4 billion surplus for this year alone.
But the state could have far more than that in the coming two years. State revenues for 2021-22 are projected to increase another $2.35 billion and during 2022-23 they are expected to increase...
