County Approves Budget, Tax Increase

The Transylvania County Board of Commissioners approved its 2021/2022 budget Monday, which includes tax increases to help pay for fire and rescue services and solid waste operations.

The ad valorem property tax rate for the county will be set at $.6033 per $100 of valuation. (The county’s current tax rate is set at $.626 cents per $100.) The fire district property tax rate will be set at $.05 per $100 in each district.
