Home Prices Up, But Supply Down

Home prices continue to soar in the western North Carolina region, despite a temporary slow down in activity at the beginning of the pandemic.
As of April 2021, the median home sale prices in Transylvania County were 12.5% above April 2020 levels, and the limited stock of housing was keeping the markets high, with a 66% decrease in homes on the market (according to the Canopy Realtor Association). As of April 2021, the median home sale price was $325,000 in the county compared to $289,000 in April 2020, and there were 107 homes on the market compared to 316 in April of last year.
