The 4th of July weekend could not have been more perfect: no rain, low temperatures, and a slight breeze. Our freedom in the U. S. is such a blessing.
In the 1950s, driving in Quebec was a challenge. Highway 64 was the only paved road. All the side roads were dirt and gravel. The expression “wash board” was frequently used. The big road scrape would come through at least two times each summer to all side roads and scrape the road.
