The summer of 2021 is shaping up to be a hot one.
During a one-week period in mid-June, for example, an estimated 200 million Americans experienced temperatures exceeding 90 degrees.
Forty million people felt 100 degrees or more.
And here in the Carolinas, we've certainly gotten a sweaty start to summer.
Summer is supposed to be a time to enjoy the great outdoors. It's when we can go running, biking, climbing, fishing and boating.
Unfortunately, extreme heat and dangerous UV rays can – and probably should – keep us indoors.
