Commissioners Hear Medicaid, School Construction Updates

During its regular meeting last week, the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners heard presentations on statewide Medicaid transformation, school construction updates and veterans’ affairs.
As of July 1, Medicare in North Carolina is under a managed care model, which means the state’s Medicaid program is being handled by commercial insurers.
Prior to the Medicaid “transformation,” Medicaid was the largest public insurer in the state.
