Children Can Learn So Much From Being In Nature

One of my favorite things to do with my son is take a hike and play at a waterfall, no matter the time of year.

Springtime brings the wide assortment of wildflowers along the way, and the salamanders are starting to hatch.

In the summer, we have so much fun swimming in the pool at the base of a waterfall or cooling off by the spray. The snakes and turtles are warming up in the sun, and the tadpoles in stagnant water are starting to develop into frogs.

The fall brings all kinds of mushrooms in the vegetation, and the leaves changing colors make for some of the most beautiful and peac...
