Blooming At The Depot

With the recent rain and hot weather, flowers at the Railroad Avenue Depot Park are really blooming. While some of the native plants are past prime, the Maximillian Sunflowers (Helianthus Maximiliani), started from seed by a member last year, are abundantly growing near the bridge. Also in bloom are bee balm, black eyed susans, blue mist flower, butterfly weed, clethra, cone flower, downy skullcap, garden phlox, hairy hawkweed, iron weed, joe pye, liatris, mountain mint, native quinine, obedient plant, rattlesnake master and swamp milkweed.
