Author, Veteran To Speak About The M1 Garand Rifle

On Aug. 18, Andrew Biggio will present a free program based on his book, “The Rifle: Combat Stories from America’s Last WWII Veterans, Told through an M1 Garand.” 

Biggio is a 33-year-old U.S. Marine veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He works as a police officer in Winthrop, Massachusetts. His book came about after he bought a 1945 M1 Garand and became curious about the soldiers who had used it. He traveled all over the U.S. to meet WWII veterans.
