Boys & Girls Club Gets Things Spick And Span

Some 35 volunteers spread out among the nooks and crannies of the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club on Gallimore Road Saturday to get the 25,000-square-foot clubhouse spick and span for its opening for after-school operations next week.

The annual half-day program is called the Cindy Platt Day of Service.

This year staffers and their families and Board of Directors members were joined by volunteers from two churches, Biltmore and Destiny, and area residents – often couples – who showed up spontaneously saying they "admired what the club does for the community." "It's rejuvenating a...
