Several Non- Profits Working To Help Those Impacted - Donations Needed

There are several nonprofits working to help those impacted:

•The Sharing House: 884-2866. Victims in need of financial assistance, food, showers and hygiene supplies, clothing and household items can call. Ask for crisis managers Jackie or Susan and identify as a flood victim.

•Salvation Army: 862-6518. Food, clothing, some furniture and financial assistance.

•Anchor Baptist Church 877-2978: Food, water, some furniture, and assistance with well evaluation, well water disinfection and water testing.

•The Bear Closet: 891-9413. Childrens items and clothing.

•SAFE: located in College Plaza. Furniture on the back door free area, clothing.

•Bread of Live: located on Oakdale and Caldwell streets. Hot meals and take out meals.

•WCCA: 884-8855. Box fans some shelf stable food.

•Red Cross: 888-850-6620. Temporary housing, pharmaceuticals and food.

Transylvania County government has also set up a hotline at the Transylvania County Library. Residents who have needs that cannot be met on the resource list provided above are encouraged to call 884-2034, Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you are interested in donating money, Transylvania County will be working with Change the World Relief Fund to help those in need. All funding will go directly to those impacted. Checks can be made out to Change the World Relief Organization and note on the check for use in Transylvania County for TS Fred. Checks can be dropped off at Anchor Baptist Church or mailed to 3232 Hendersonville Highway, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768. Change the World is a registered 501-c-3.
