In Henderson County Veterans History Museum Shares Its Mission

Emmett Casciato talks to veterans in Henderson County about the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas.

The Dixie Diner in Laurel Park honors military veterans with a free buffet breakfast the third Thursday of each month. The breakfast is paid for by Vickie, the owner, as a tribute to those who served the country.

She invited Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas founder and curator Emmett Casciato and board member Carl Newman to present a program on Aug. 19 to 50 veterans.

"The Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas preserves, honors and educ-ates visitors to ensure that we never forget each of you, the veterans who protected America's freedom," Casciato told the veterans.
