It’s been an eventful week for Transylvania County Schools sports:

•On Monday, the Brevard varsity soccer team lost their away non-conference game against Smoky Mountain by a score of 6-1. The team’s Wednesday home match against Owen took place after the paper went to press.

•The Brevard varsity volleyball had a scheduled match against East Rutherford this week but was canceled as the East Rutherford volleyball program is currently shutdown due to COVID-19. According to Brevard High School Athletic Director David Galloway, it will be rescheduled at a later date.

•The Rosman varsity volleyball team’s game away at Avery was rescheduled from Monday to Wednesday evening.

•The scheduled home varsity football bout Friday between the Rosman Tigers and the Enka Jets is canceled. “Unfortunately we aren’t playing this week because of a positive COVID-19 test and subsequent contact tracing,” head coach Dusty Robinson told The Transylvania Times. According to Rosman High School athletic director Jennifer McCall, there is no plan in place at this time to reschedule.
