Cooper Surveys Transylvania Flood Damage

During a visit to the county Friday, Gov. Cooper Cooper (right) hears about the damage from flooding in Rosman.

Gov. Roy Cooper was in Transylvania County Friday and visited areas in Rosman and Pisgah Forest that were damaged the week of Aug. 16 from flooding from Tropical Storm Fred.

In Rosman, Cooper went to Depot Street, just off Main Street, to inspect the Depot Street Apartments. In Pisgah Forest, he visited Cemetery and Davidson River roads.

Before visiting the areas, Cooper met with county officials in the Board of Commissioners' meeting room. During some brief comments, Cooper said financial damage assessments have been sent to FEMA and the state is hoping for a "quick response" to help tho...
