Sharing my hiking experiences through the ages: I was 21 when my college roommate and I were stuck at a car race in southern France.

We had taken the train from Paris and had to hike 5 miles to get to the event. No way did we want to hike back, so, we hitchhiked. “Don’t tell!”

At age 55, I joined a friend for a hiking group in Sicily.

Actually, we hiked mostly on the Aeolian volcanic islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

It seemed to me that we only hiked up and further up.
