Fred Impacts Forest Road Used By Neighborhood

Some Cathey’s Creek Road residents in Pisgah National Forest say the U.S. Forest Service road they use to get in and out of their neighborhood was badly damaged by Tropical Storm Fred last month, but Forest Service officials say they don’t know how long it will take to repair.

Cathey’s Creek Road is open from where the road meets U.S. 64 until Gloucester Gap, but according to residents Sandra Ziegler and Louisa Shore, the road is rough and near impossible to drive with a low clearance vehicle.
