Contemplative Path Dedicated, Open To All

The Rev. Diane Livingston, recently retired as deacon of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, pauses at the sign for the Contemplative Path dedicated in her honor on Sunday, Aug. 29.

With a bundle of rosemary dipped in holy water, the Rev. Elizabeth Roles showered blessings along the new Contemplative Path at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Brevard on Sunday, Aug. 29, dedicating the forest walkway to the glory of God and the benefit of all who visit there.

"It's our gift to the community. That's what we hoped for, and it's happening," said Jean Woods, one of the St. Philip's members who led the effort to create the path.

Located behind the Rice Street Community Garden at the rear of the 256 E. Main St. church campus, the Contemplative Path winds through tall poplars...
