A photo of women from the Dunn's Rock community working on surgical dressings for the Red Cross during World War II is included in the book. Nancy Carrier, who hosted these events in her home, is pictured in the front center.

What seemed like a disaster in the summer of 2020 turned out to have a silver lining for Rockbrook Camp for Girls. Camp directors Jeff and Sarah Carter made the agonizing decision to cancel all camp sessions due to the pandemic. That left Sarah with plenty of time to dig into the camp’s archives in preparation for a book commemorating the camp’s centennial year.

“Originally the archives were in one of the cabins in plastic storage tubs. We rescued those and put them in a climate-controlled space, but never really had time to go through them very much,” she said.
