More public comments against the school system’s current masking policy were made during Monday’s Transylvania County Board of Education meeting.
Board Chair Tawny McCoy said at the beginning of the meeting that no decision would be made that night regarding the masking policy.
State law does require school boards to address the issue at least once a month. The board next meets Oct. 18.
Six speakers spoke against the mandatory masking policy, including comments about freedom and parent autonomy, and accusations that some school personnel were trying to indoctrinate students.
