Handcrafted Arts And Crafts Sale
The Cedar Mountain Community Center is hosting a Handcrafted Arts and Crafts Sale on Saturday, Nov. 6. The show is being held at the Cedar Mountain Community Center, 10635 Greenville Highway, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables are $10 each. There are still a few tables available

Community Center BBQ
On Monday, Oct. 11, the Cedar Mountain Comm-unity Center will have a BBQ fundraiser in lieu of our usual potluck. Outside pickup will be available at the covered pavilion from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. You may eat inside if you wish. Indoor serving and the monthly meeting start at 6:30 p.m. Bulk BBQ will be available for purchase. The recommended donation is $10 per plate. Come on down for some delicious BBQ cooked by Jeff, with baked beans, coleslaw, buns and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
There will be a report on the Scholarship Fund at the meeting. Candidates for election to the board for 2022 will be announced. Four board positions are open. Nominations will be open at that time and voted on at the Monday, Nov. 15, potluck. The November potluck is our annual community Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey and trimmings will be furnished. Please have any covered dishes ready to serve by 6:15 p.m. All are welcome.
Community Center Rental
The Community Center is for rent. The center has a capacity of 150 standing and seating for 100. There is a commercial style kitchen too. Our center is the perfect place for your reception, party, family reunion, business meeting or other activity. Get married outside and have your reception at the center or use it as a dressing room for outdoor weddings. Make food in the commercial kitchen or have it catered by local professionals. Birthdays: Katie Baines had a birthday Oct. 1, one day before her mother, Renee Baines, turned a year older. Christian Girolamo celebrated on Oct. 3. Regina Pace Bouye's birthday is Oct. 6. Three birthdays on Oct. 8: Mary Bishop, Clyde Stahl and Jacob Smith. Jacob's dad, Jeff Smith, will celebrate on Oct. 18. William "Bill" Bishop's birthday is on Oct. 12, and young Aster Davis will be celebrated on Oct. 26. Happy birthday to all!
Anniversaries: Joe and Judy Barksdale celebrated another year of wedded bliss on Oct. 1. Don and Jeanne Hayes will celebrate on Oct. 5. Bruce and Elizabeth Fortner will celebrate on Oct. 9, while the very next day, Tom and Angie Skerrett Beeker will do the same. Robert and Suzanne Lawson gain another year together on Oct. 23, while Randy and Elisa Pace will celebrate on Oct. 25. Congratulations and best wishes to all. Around The House by Linda Packer Young
Not much has changed around the house except our basement is looking like an overstocked warehouse. We will soon have to make decisions on whose stuff we keep and what has to go. I have already donated my set of kitchen knives in favor of his. This project should be fun. Ha.
