Friends Of The Library Book Sale Opens This Weekend

Jane Carter, president-elect of the Friends of the Library, sorts books into sections Tuesday for the Friends of the Library book sale. Dozens of volunteers are preparing for the event, which opens with a members-only pre-sale on Friday and to the general public on Saturday.

The Friends of the Transylvania County Library annual book sale opens this weekend in the library's Rogow Room, with a members-only pre-sale on Friday, Oct. 8, from 4-6 p.m, and six days of public sales starting Saturday at 10 a.m.

Thousands of excellent, gently-used books are donated for the sale every year. But because the pandemic forced last year's sale to be canceled, the Friends have more than 30,000 books to sell in the coming week.
