Aubrey Lionel Stowell III, 75, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Oct. 4, 2021, with his family by his side at his home in Dallas, Texas.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy.

He was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Justine (later Humphries) and Lt. Aubrey Lionel Stowell Jr., who died in combat prior to his birth, and grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., attending St. Thomas Aquinas, and married Nancy Nickel July 1, 1966. He and Nancy raised their two daughters in Fort Lauderdale, Memphis, St. Louis and Houston.
He worked in investment banking for the majority of his career, being one of the founders of Marcus, Stowell and Beye Inc. However, his most precious memories were with his beloved family and close friends at Lake Toxaway and then later with his two cherished grandchildren in Dallas, where he was a permanent fixture at their extracurricular activities.
His passions included his family, fishing, flying, grilling and boating. He was devoted to serving and protecting vulnerable children in his role as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Denton County before he became too ill to do so.
A memorial service will be held at Lake Toxaway United Methodist Church Saturday Oct. 16, 2021 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to UTSW Simmons Cancer Center (https://engage.utsouthwestern.edu/donate-now) or CASA of Denton County (https://casadenton.org/give/donate/).
