Commissioners Divided Over Medicaid Expansion

At last Monday’s Transylvania County Board of Commissioners’ (BOC) meeting, the board voted 3-2 against passing a resolution supporting Medicaid expansion, which would close the “coverage gap” for the over 500,000 North Carolinians who have virtually no access to affordable health care coverage.

Commissioners Jason Chappell, Larry Chapman and Teresa McCall voted against supporting Medi-caid expansion, and Commissioners David Guice and Jake Dalton voted in favor of it.
