TCT: Tourism Booming

Tourism is officially booming in Transylvania County, as reported by Transylvania County Tourism (TCT) in their presentation of the 2021 report to the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners Monday.

By all metrics, tourism is up, according to Clark Lovelace, executive director for TCT. The total occupancy revenue collected by TCT was up 92.07% over the previous year at $1,855,927 for the 2020/21 fiscal year, which ended in June. Hotel/motel/inn occupancy was up 14% over the previous year. Airbnb collections were up 144% over the prior year, and the average daily rate for accommodations...
