Connestee Falls resident Judy Patrick spends part of her free time volunteering for Free Rein.

It was her love for all animals, specifically of horses, that drew Judy Patrick, a Connestee Falls resident since 2012, to become a volunteer horse leader for Free Rein for the last eight years. Free Rein is a not-for-profit organization that uses horses to heal by using Equine Therapy as the modality of treatment to help children and adults with physical and emotional disabilities.

"The outside of a horse does the inside of a human good," Patrick said. "From the first day of meeting the horse to the last day of the eight-week session, I have seen a child's confidence in and on the horse...
