•Road improvement work in Transylvania County during the past two years was outlined by Highway Commissioner E.J. Whitmire before the county commissioners and members of the Brevard Chamber of Commerce.
Allocations for the various phases of highway worked totaled $720,316 .48. There are 32 employees and the average monthly payroll is $17,000.
Nine roads were paved, including Pettit Loop, Barclay Road, Trett Road, Kim Miller Road, Walnut Hollow Road and Little River Camp Road, for $336,539.65....
