Mills: The Three Different Words Of 'Love'

The word “Love” in the English language has to serve for everything from warm, fuzzy feelings to sexual desires. We “fall” in love like we fall into pits, sometimes against our better judgment. “Love” is a busy word covering a vast domain of human emotions, desires and impulses that often get confused with one another.

The ancient Greek language had at least three different words for love. The word “Philia” comes closets...
