Elizabeth Lanier, a part-time resident of Brevard, passed away peacefully in her home in Pompano Beach, Fla., Oct. 26, 2021. She was 96.
She was born in St. Paul, Minn., May 2, 1925. Early in her life, her family moved to Basket, Ky., where she lived until graduation from high school.
During World War II, she worked as a riveter in a defense plant and then joined the United States Navy, where she received training in the Bronx, N.Y., and was stationed in Washington, D.C.
